Recognizing Multiple Sclerosis Awareness Month

Multiple Sclerosis is a chronic autoimmune disease that affects the central nervous system, disrupting the flow of information within the brain and between the brain and body. Symptoms vary widely and can include fatigue, weakness, numbness, cognitive impairment, and mobility challenges. MS is unpredictable and affects each individual differently, making diagnosis, treatment, and management complex. Our directory provides a range of support services and educational resources.

How to use the Pathways website
How to use the search directory:
Are you looking for community services and programs on our website? We have created a short informational video to help you find resources quickly.
UPCCs are for when you are unable to see your family practitioner or access a walk-in clinic in a timely manner. If you do not have a doctor or nurse practitioner, you can receive urgent care at a UPCC.

All BC residents can now register for a family doctor or nurse practitioner in their community through BC’s Health Connect Registry.
When you register, you are added to a centralized registry of primary care providers across your community.

Primary Care Providers (PCP) are health care professionals, such as Family Physicians or Nurse Practitioners, who help you manage your health. A long-term relationship with a PCP keeps you healthier; they can treat you when you are sick or help you access more advanced care when you need it.
We also work alongside community organizations and service agencies to connect Burnaby residents, not only with medical care, but with essential social supports as well.
