The program specializes in the dietary needs of seniors due to the extensive experience they have in preparing food for the elderly and the expert input they have received from qualified dieticians.
They offer fully cooked and frozen meals, including soup, entrée & dessert, with regular and diet items available: diabetic, low salt and finely minced entrees menu options and a la carte items are available. No MSG or preservatives added. The Regular Menu provides well-balanced meals suitable for individuals with standard dietary requirements, featuring a mix of proteins, vegetables, and carbohydrates. The Diabetic Menu is tailored for those managing sugar intake, emphasizing controlled carbohydrate content and a balanced nutrient profile to support blood sugar management. The Low Sodium Menu is designed for individuals requiring reduced sodium intake, focusing on flavourful options while minimizing salt content to promote heart health. The Finely Minced Menu is crafted for individuals who need softer or finely minced foods, addressing specific health conditions or challenges with chewing to enhance accessibility and enjoyment.
Better Meals offers free delivery for all areas with a $30.00 minimum order. Prices vary for food products. See website.
Order online or by phone. Order by 2:00 PM 2 business days before delivery day. Meals can also be picked up during office hours at the Better Meals commissary in Burnaby. Pick-up orders must be placed at least one business day in advance. The order desk hours are Monday to Friday from 8:30 AM to 3:00 PM, excluding holidays.
